The green transition is an important yet challenging task.
The industrial sector is one of the areas in need of new energy sources, and in many cases, these are not solutions readily available off the shelf. If that were the case, the shift away from fossil fuels would have progressed much further.

ROCKWOOL produces non-combustible stone wool insulation through a high-temperature melting process.
Since the 1970s, our factory in Vamdrup has supplied surplus heat to the district heating network, providing warmth to local homes and thereby utilizing energy resources efficiently. This has given us extensive experience in collaborating with the local community.

For many years, ROCKWOOL has worked diligently to develop new production technologies that enable the transition from fossil fuels to CO2-neutral energy sources. In 2021, our two Danish factories transitioned to biogas, and our Vamdrup facility is now a partner in the Triangle Energy Alliance.
